Forestry work should support the landowner's larger plans for the property. Timber value may be part of the goal, but wildlife habitat, access, future land use and long-term maintenance also matter.

We look at the property as a whole. That may include existing stands, recently harvested areas, roads, regeneration and competing vegetation. From there, we organize the work so each step supports what comes next.

Timber and Stand Management

We review pine plantations, longleaf stands, mixed timber and recently harvested areas. We also look at stand condition, access and the vegetation competing with desirable trees.

Field work may include stand improvement, vegetation control, access work and regeneration projects. When formal timber appraisal, inventory or sale administration is needed, qualified forestry support is included as part of the project.

Forestry Site Preparation

A planting project often succeeds or fails before the seedlings arrive.

We inspect the site and review the existing vegetation, terrain, soil conditions and access. The planting goal and schedule help determine which site-preparation methods make sense and when the work should be completed.

Site preparation may include mechanical clearing, mowing, herbicide treatment or prescribed fire. We can also map treatment areas and inspect the site before planting begins.

Reforestation and Longleaf-Pine Establishment

Reforestation requires planning before planting and follow-up after the seedlings are in the ground.

We help move the project from site preparation through planting and early stand care. Work may include treatment layout, planting coordination, survival checks and control of competing vegetation.

Longleaf pine often requires a different approach than other planting projects. We account for those needs during site preparation, establishment and early maintenance. GIS mapping and field records may also be used to track the planting area and document progress.
