Habitat Management

Good wildlife habitat does not come from one practice alone. It depends on how food, cover, water and vegetation are arranged across the property.

We review what the land already provides and identify what is limited. We may look at native vegetation, timber structure, field edges, openings and travel areas. The owner's target wildlife and property use guide the work.

Habitat improvements may include mowing, disking, vegetation control, edge work, opening management or prescribed fire. We may also improve access to areas that need continued maintenance. Each project is carried out with the larger property plan in mind. Habitat work should support timber goals and future land use rather than compete with them.
